About me
I have been working at the Lublin University of Technology since 2006, when I defended my master's thesis in the field of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering, specialisation: Computer Science in Production Engineering. Since the beginning of my work at the university I have been associated with the Institute of Technological Information Systems (Section of Information Systems). Initially I was an assistant, briefly a lecturer. In 2015, I defended my PhD thesis in the Production Engineering discipline on the topic: 'Investigations of the effect of heat treatment of adhesive butt joints on their static strength' and was hired as an assistant professor. From 2016, I was assigned to the Department of Biomedical Engineering, where I also worked after the Institute became the Department of Production Computerisation and Robotisation (2019). In 2023, I was assigned to the Department of Robotics and Assembly Technology.
My scientific work and research interests focus on production engineering, specifically adhesive joints (preparation of surfaces for bonding, parameters of adhesive material, characteristics of the finished joint and its resistance to loads, operating conditions, etc.) and biomedical engineering - bone cements (e.g. the influence of impurities and composition imbalances on the strength characteristics of the material). I am the author of numerous scientific papers and have reviewed papers submitted to several scientific journals. More on this topic: interests, publications, reviewing.
As far as teaching is concerned, I have conducted classes in basically all courses offered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Lublin University of Technology. Topics usually remain in the area of IT applications in engineering: production, biomedical, mechanics and mechanical engineering (assisted machining, basics of programming for engineers, databases, etc.). I have also given classes in English to students, guest lecturers under the Erasmus programme. For several years now, I have been trying to actively use the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ and Ceepus programmes for university teachers by visiting international universities from all over the world on a yearly basis. I am particularly active in the area of organisational activities. On several occasions I have been involved in projects at the department and the university, co-financed by EU or Ministry of Science and Higher Education funds. I am Deputy Editor-in-Chief of a scientific journal and a member of the Organising and Scientific Committees of several conferences (including international conferences), as well as a member of several Scientific Societies. Since 2021, I have been the Faculty Social Labour Inspector (Mechanical Faculty) within the Occupational Health and Safety Committee. I am also involved in international exchange - I am the Faculty Coordinator of the CEEPUS network: Research and Development of New Technologies for Innovative Services in Sustainable Logistics 4.0. My activity within my home Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is connected with being a member of several committees, e.g. Diploma Commission or Programme Board of one of the fields of study, while within the university - mainly with being an active member of the University Admission Board. I have also been involved in public service activities for many years. I was the initiator, co-founder and I am the president of the Polish Red Cross Honorary Blood Donors' Club at LUT, and I have organised several blood donation events at PL. In addition, I am actively involved in the Lublin Regional Branch of the Polish Red Cross, being a member of the Board, secretary of the Award and Distinction Commission, and representative for voluntary blood donation. On the national level - a member of the National Honorary Blood Donors Polish Red Cross Council. For more on this topic: here.
